The Wiscasset, Waterville, & Farmington Railway Museum is located in Alna, just outside of Wiscasset, about 1 hour drive northeast of Portland. The Museum is the home of the only surviving locomotive that ran on the WW&F as well as earlier on the Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes and the Kennebec Central. Check out their web site.



The Sandy River & Rangeley Lakes Railway Museum is located in Phillips, Maine about 2 hours north or Portland in the beautiful western mountains region of the State. Historic railway buildings are still standing in Rangeley, Kingfield, Strong, and Phillips. The two pictured above are the Strong Creamery and Marbles Station on the lake in Rangeley. The Boothbay Railway Village, just down the road from Wiscasset operated Henchels on 2-foot gauge track and has a fine collection of Maine 2-foot memorabilia.
