Al Boos--Make an Industrial Water Tank , 4 1/2 hour clinic; hands on. The clinic will emphasize an easy method of scratch building a tapered, wooden water tank. Participants will learn how to make the sub-structure, do board by tank bottom and sides, the joists for the tank bottom, and a conical roof with its facia, and a simple tower, without having to do any complicated measuring. The tank will be two and a half inches in diameter which is 18' in HO, 13'4" in S and 10' in O scale (just right for an industrial/small RR tank. All of the components will be precut and we'll use preweathered wood. To keep it simple the cost will be $30. All tools (loaners) and materials will be provided - all you have to do is show up. Al will bring a made up example, sign, and sign up sheet will be at the registration desk - max of 25 if the room will hold that many. Participants will pay at the clinic so there is no hassle for the registration folks. The clinic will be held on Thursday afternoon, Aug. 30, starting at 1pm.
